The Speaker Series is one of the African Development Group’s most prized events put together by the Forums Pillar. The Speaker Series has notable Africans, making an impact on the continent, talk about their life stories, their mistakes and the benefits of working on their various countries. Previous speakers include Sangu Delle, Forbes Top 30 Under 30 Most Promising African Enterpreneur; Mr Eazi, Nigerian Singer and enterpreneur; Hon. Ken Ofori-Atta, Ghana's Minister of Finance.
ADG featured as a member of the steering committee for the 14th Annual Columbia University African Economic Forum. This year’s forum provided a platform to evaluate the ways in which collaboration in an era of technological transformation, integration, and innovation can bridge the development gap and fuel growth in Africa. The African Development Group is the first undergraduate club to feature as organizing partners for the African Economic Forum.

The Engagement team of ADG is working with students at University of Cape Coast (UCC), Ghana to develop a Library Exchange Program between the UCC and Columbia University to enable the extension of access to Columbia University's library resources to the UCC students and faculty, as well as the exchange of library personnel and materials.
ADG launched its first annual African Research Symposium in April 2017. The symposium engages speakers and panelists on the challenges and advances of research on and about the African continent. Topics of discussion include current frontiers, sources of funding, retention of intellectual property, local participation, capacity building of research institutions and technology transfer. The symposium also features posters from faculty, student and industry researchers.
